INDIA WON THE FIRST ICC TWENTY20 WORLD CUP

India won the first ICC Twenty20 World cup in a thrilling encounter agaist Pakistan.
India won the toss and chose to bat. Pakistans excellent bowling kept India's total down to 157/5 off 20 overs.
In 19.3 overs Pakistan were all out for 152 runs.
India won the match by 5 runs.
Irfan Pathan was man of the match (3 wickets off 15 runs). Shahid Afridi of Pakistan given the Man of the Series award.
ICC offered 2 million US dollars to the Indian team.

The maker of the ICC Twenty20 trophy Amit Pabuwal had predicted Indian team will return home with the trophy!!
