Sajeev Kalathiparambil is a young talented artist who can create magic on the canvas by his brush strokes. He hails from Mattancherry, a nerve town of old historic Cochin. You can find Dutch Palace, built by the Portuguese and presented to Raja of Cochin in 1555, it became known as Dutch Palace in 1663, when Dutch renovated the palace. Jew Synagogue is very much near to the Dutch palace. Synagogue is the worship place of the Jews.

Many different communities like Gowda Saraswath Brahmins, Kudumbies, Gujaratis, Jains, Muslims and Marathis lived in separate enclaves and gave Mattancherry a distinct architecture.

Mattancherry is the place where Vembanadu lake meets the Arabian Sea. The Chinese Nets, The spice godowns, The Thirumala Deveswam Temple, Jain Temple, Vasco da Gama etc. etc.

Sajeev has got inspired from this ancient, cultural, communal blends of Mattancherry.

Q: blue lettered pieces - what relevance , please ?

at the end of Sajeev Kalathiparambil 's article with his paintings there are a lot of blue lettered boxes on unusual sexual practices ; Q : what is their relevance to Sajeev's paintings ? could they not be separately treated with a clear sub-heading , i wonder ?
