Submitted by sancochin on Mon, 04/28/2008 - 8:24pm.The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched ten satellites including country's latest remote sensing satellite and eight nano satellites from abroad on Today.
The satellites lifted off from Sriharikota carried by Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle -PSLV-C9.
The cluster of satellites included the Indian Mini Satellite (IMPS-1) also.
Latest remote sensing satellite CARTOSAT-2A, weighing about 690 kgs, carries a state-of-the-art panchromatic camera (PAN) which is capable of taking black-and-white pictures in visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Padmasri Bharath Gopi - A tribute

He was hospitalised last week after a heart attack while shooting for the film "Dhey Ingottu Nokiye".
The debut movie of Gopiettan was "Swayamvaram" in 1972. Films like "Ormakkayi", "Yavanika", "Panchavadippalam" and "Aadaminte Vaariyell" were very popular.
Gopi's portrayal of a villager in the film "Kodiyettam" in 1977 won him the National Film Award for Best Actor.
"Yavanika" and "Kaattathe Kilikoodu" were masterpieces of Gopiettan.
He got Kerala state award for the best actor for four times.

Ms Bhutto was Pakistan's prime minister twice. The first term of office between 1988 and 1990.
Benazir Bhutto was part of a political dynasty. She visited India in 1972 with her father, President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, to meet Indira Gandhi.
